"Veterans of 1776 Returning from the War" by William Tylee Ranney (1848)

This week is a very ordinary one.  Here are a few notes.  Have a great week!

THE LEAGUE: ACT II OPENING UP: Things kick off this week with a prologue and a challenge / contest.

VETERANS DAY: This past Saturday we celebrated Veterans Day.  Please take a moment this week to pause and pray in gratitude for all of those who now give or have given of their lives in service to our country and people.

CHESS SELF-PACED: The chess workshop is up and going, look for another opportunity next year.  Right now, we are pleased to announce that Mr. Bloom has crafted a self-paced chess course that is available through Traditio Nostra.  See the description and sign up HERE.

POEM of the WEEK: "The Nose and the Eyes" by William Cowper.  Recited by Ryann Chen.

Student and instructor contributions for "Poem of the Week" are welcome.  Send a message to Mr. Rolling with "Poem of the Week," and the title and author of the poem you would like to recite.

REMEDIAL DAY NEXT MONDAY: Next week we enjoy Thanksgiving Break.  Just as with Fall Break, the first day of next week is designated as a "remedial" day.  On this day you should catch up quizzes, organize and study, work ahead on COMPs, and generally put things in order before you rest.  Don't forget: with our concentrated schedule, breaks must be used wisely!
