Hear ye, hear ye! Noble Oxrosians, your fearless leaders are in search of students to take on the role of House Prefect! From the Latin praefectus, meaning “one placed in charge”, a prefect is chosen not only for academic achievement but also for their character. A prefect should act as a leader and role model for their housemates. Prefects should have a vibrant prayer life, be willing to lead virtuously, and strive to create a House culture of respect and joy.
This opportunity will allow the prefect to earn service hours and also will be an excellent bullet point on a resume. First and foremost, this noble station allows the prefect to continue to grow in holiness and wisdom. Let us follow the example of Christ and become a servant as we pursue truth, goodness, and beauty. Gaudio sicut gladiis semper in altum!
To Do: Contact your Provost if you are interested in becoming a Prefect for your House. He or she will give you more details.
Criteria: A student must have participated in his/her House for at least one year and have the Provost's approval. 2-3 Prefects will be chosen according to each House's needs.

Oxrose Academy Provosts are announcing a new opportunity for students to grow in leadership and service within the Oxrose community this academic year 2026-2027. We would love to see members of each House volunteer!
"As, therefore, the doctor is said to cause health in a sick man through the work of nature, so also is a man said to cause knowledge in another through the work of the student's natural reason, and this is teaching." -- St. Thomas Aquinas, De Veritate, q. 11, a. 1"From the first... he had set before himself in his tutorial work the aim of gaining souls to God." -- St. John Henry Newman, "Autobiographical Memoir"Under the guidance of the Academy's instructors the Tutor is responsible for helping his or her fellow Oxrose students grow in knowledge and wisdom by answering questions, aiding the completion of course assignments, and providing charitable encouragement and motivation as needed.Criteria:- Consent of two Oxrose instructors
- Some training in the art of mentorship/tutorship and the expectations for tutors (50 minute meeting/course from an instructor)
- Set availability during the year for tutoring (at least one tutor time for an instructor who they're tutoring for)
- Have a qualifying GPA in the subject area being tutored: average 3.5 or higher (or A average)
Your leadership and service hours will be added to your official school record and represent a great addition to your curriculum vitae in the name of helping your fellow-students.
To Do: If you are interested in being a certified Oxrose Tutor this coming academic year, please send your request to headmistress@oxroseacademy.com along with your two instructor references. Deadline: EXTENDED: August 17th.
📌SPECIAL NOTE: Thank you to those who have submitted your information. We will be reaching out the first week of school about training.
