LITURGICAL NOTE:
This is the first week of Ordinary Time (ordinal numbers 1, 2, 3, etc.). The spiritual emphasis in this season begins as a continuation of the joyous wonder of the epiphany (revealing) of Christ as we celebrate the Baptism of Our Lord and the wedding at Cana. The term "Epiphanytide," meaning Epiphany-time, is very fitting. We also enjoy the feasts of a number of wonderful saints, be sure to read some of their stories.
