This week we work out the last few kinks and set our bookish rhythm for the year.

"The Book Worm" by Carl Spitzweg
Here are a few announcements:
TUTOR TIMES UP: Times are posted and the office hours are open for business.  Stop in and see your instructors today!

GRADING BEGINS:  Teachers will be grading the Unit 1 assignments throughout this week.  Don't forget to read their feedback--that is where you learn how to alter your work in order to get the most from it (and earn an A).

REVIEW & ASSESSMENT WEEK:  NEXT week is "review & assessment"--we  DO have class meetings at the usual times, but we spend the week reviewing how things are going, rather than moving forward into new content.  Follow the Agenda in each class.

LABOR DAY: The school is closed for the civic holiday on Monday, September 4.  Since it is "Review &
Assessment" week classes that usually meet on that day will not be made up.

SAINT AUGUSTINE: A blessed feast of St. Augustine of Hippo, Bishop and Doctor.  St. Augustine; Pray for us.

POEM of the WEEK: "It Couldn't Be Done" by Edgar A. Guest.  Recited by Kenneth Rolling.
Student and instructor contributions for "Poem of the Week" are welcome.  Send a message to Mr. Rolling with "Poem of the Week," and the title and author of the poem you would like to recite.
