Gaudio sicut gladiis, semper in altum!
Notes for this Week:
SCHOLE: Our motto is meant to express who we are as a community -- let your joy, inspired by Christ, guide you into the depths of knowledge and the heights of achievement! May that same joy reach out, in prayer and deed, to all your fellow students to hold them up in charity. Work hard. Achieve excellence for the Glory of God.
SCHEDULE: During exam week we have all of our regular class meetings, then the exams open and remain available until the end of the end-of-year grace period at midnight on Tuesday, May 20th. All homework that may be turned in is due by that day, as well. Quizzes may be retaken until May 25th. Grades are finalized and archived on Monday, May 26th. This timeline does not apply to independent credits, which will be awarded later.
Students & Parents: This week, it is essential to pay close attention to deadlines, prioritize important tasks, set a study and exam schedule, and avoid distractions.
ORAL EXAMS & TUTOR TIMES: Our Great Books courses have oral exams this week, which means that the instructors may have adjusted schedules for their tutor times. GB Students, please check your messages for any notes from them regarding changes.
POEM of the WEEK: "The Joke Forgotten" by Susanna Henry. Recited by Evelyn Sherman. It is wonderful to end the year with a poem by a student, recited by another! Well done to you both.
Student and Instructor contributions for "Poem of the Week" are welcome (sung poetry is welcome, too). Send a message to Mr. Rolling with "Poem of the Week," and the title and author of the poem you would like to recite.
Notes for Next Week:
GRACE PERIOD ENDS, MAY 20th: All exams and homework must be submitted by midnight, Central Time.
GALLERY NIGHT, MAY 23rd ~ All Students, Faculty, and Parents are cordially invited to attend our annual gallery night, at which the studio students will be exhibiting their work. This is a wonderful chance to show support for school mates and have a pleasant visit after the busy-ness of the school year comes to a close. Come if you can!
