This week we celebrate the wonderful festivity of All Saints on Saturday, followed by All Souls, when we honor the faithful departed and pray for their purification. Here are the notes for this week:
ALL SAINTS DAY FESTIVITIES: In UNIT 9, we celebrate All Saints Day on Saturday, November 1st. We pause, as of old, to honor the glorious saints and thank God for the gift of the community we share with the Church Triumphant.
1. COSTUME CONTEST: Dress as your baptismal or confirmation saint and submit a photo to win a prize and House Points. Details available in the League.
2. ICON CONTEST: Pray and draw an icon of your baptism or confirmation saint and submit it for a prize and House Points. Details available in the League.
REMINDERS:
- CHESS WORKSHOP: Fall: Nov. 11-Dec. 16, Tuesdays 2:00-3:00 PM CT
- RSVP Alecia Rolling at headmistress@oxroseacademy.com if attending the Oakenmanor 5th Day of Christmas Wassail in Lucedale, Mississippi; plenty of camping space. Hotels are 30-45 minutes away.
