As we close out Mary’s month of May, we reflect on Mary’s Visitation to Elizabeth, when the very words that make up the Ave Maria were first uttered followed by Mary’s Magnificat. This is a beautiful feast day that reminds us of Mary’s charity toward her cousin, Elizabeth. She traveled to help her during her time of need, and God blessed Our Lady with the companionship of a dear cousin who instantly rejoiced in Mary’s profound news. May we enter summer with charity in our hearts, devotion to Our Lord and Lady, and encounter many opportunities for fellowship.
