Announcing Three New Courses

Course: ES 5 Advanced Physics & Cosmology

Instructor: Fr. John Rickert, FSSP, TOFP, Ph.D.

Course DescriptionEmpirical Science 5: Advanced Physics and Cosmology. This course uses Novare’s Physics: Modeling Nature Trig/Vector Edition and additional supplemental sources. It reflects the Novare philosophy of integration, mastery, and robust lab experiments. The primary goal of this course is for students to gain mastery over more advanced topics in physics. It introduces new topics that were not considered in the introductory course, such as projectile motion and friction. It will return to topics studied at the introductory level using advanced mathematics, allowing more accurate modeling of complex scenarios. A secondary goal is to introduce students to some of the topics studied in theoretical physics, with a particular emphasis on cosmology and the development of the universe. A final goal will be to place modern, empirical physics within its proper philosophical framework, which ensures that the subjects explored by theoretical physics lead not to absurdity, but to beauty and truth. Pre-Requisite: OA Math 4 OR OA Math 3 and concurrently enrolled in Math 4; Algebra III and/or Trigonometry

Course: Grammar and Handwriting

Instructor: Mrs. Alecia Rolling, M.A.

Course Description: Grammar and Handwriting is designed for 6th-8th graders who need to shore up their grammar skills and handwriting. Harvey’s Grammar will be used as a firm foundation for lessons and writing assignments. Class time will be spent diagramming sentences, practicing grammar lessons, and improving handwriting. At Oxrose, we want to ensure the best success for our students, and a strong foundation in grammar sets them up for better success in classes like Logic, Latin, and Composition as they move into the high school years. Grade Levels: 6th-8th

Course: Music Theory 1 & Voice

Instructor: Mrs. Rebecca Beaucourt, M.A.

Course Description: This first course in the theory sequence develops proficiency with the diatonic materials of music, including scales, intervals, chords, root-position harmonic progressions, and voice-leading. Voice instruction is included throughout the year as part of the course as well. Students may take both or one or the other. See the Registration Form to register. Grade Levels: 11th-12th or by permission. Requisite: Must have a piano or keyboard at home

Registration Open for 2026-2027 Academic Year

Thank you for a great year so far at Oxrose AcademySchola Rosa, and Traditio Nostra Self-Paced Courses. We are blessed to offer such a wide variety of options to serve our growing, Catholic homeschooling community, and we are most pleased to announce that registration for the 2026-2027 academic year at the Academy is now open.

Oxrose Academy offers enrollment options that cater to Catholic families wanting single courses, high-school diploma pathways, and Advanced College Credit courses. Our partnership with Benedictine College allows qualified juniors and seniors the opportunity to earn college credits for Benedictine-approved Oxrose courses. These Advanced College Credit courses are designated with “ACC” in our catalogue and on the registration form. Our ACC students have richly reaped the fruit of this partnership and all of us at Oxrose are immensely grateful.

Partnerships do not end there! We are thrilled to be working with Catholic International University to expand our catalogue of courses, taught by their qualified faculty, and to support the mission of CIU’s Early College Program. Keep your eyes open for new courses on our registration form! They are designated CIU-ECP.
We hope that you consider Oxrose Academy for your student next year!

Early-Registration for Returning Families

Before we open registration for the 2026-2027 academic year to all families, we wanted to give you a chance to secure your student’s seats. Registration will be open to only you, as a returning family, between January 10th and 20th. After January 20th, we will open registration to all families, old and new.
January 10th-20th, you get a 50% discount on the student registration fee. We are increasing the student registration fee to $250/student for next year to meet more realistically our academy’s costs that come with added perks like accreditation, testing, record-keeping, and academic counseling. Please rest assured that we were very deliberate in choosing the registration fee and based it on the actual costs associated with each student enrolled. With all that in mind, we wanted to offer you a discount now if you register during the current family window.
All other tuition fees are mostly left unchanged, except for our advanced college credit courses that receive high school credit for each semester (i.e. Advanced College Credit courses). As always, please do not hesitate to call the office and ask questions. We are happy to help!
We hope that you return to Oxrose Academy next year!
