Partnership with Benedictine College

Beginning in March 2025, an agreement between Benedictine College and Oxrose Academy allows qualified Oxrose Academy juniors and seniors the opportunity to earn Benedictine College credits for specially identified courses. Oxrose Academy students enroll in both the Oxrose Academy course and the Benedictine College course.
A Few Things to Keep In Mind
Please take note of a few items here that are meant to keep you in the know.
- LOG-IN and CHECK-IN: Login with your student to view his/her progress in each class so far and message instructors with any questions about grading feedback you might have. This is a great time to assess the quality of your student’s submissions.
- REMEDIAL DAY: October 6 will be a remedial work day for students who were flagged by their instructors as needing a special work day to get caught up and make sure they don’t fall too far behind. You will be notified by the office on September 29th via email and phone if you have a student in this category. We ask that you make sure the student complete the work by remedial day and/or attend the required remedial day study hall sessions to complete the work. Remedial Study Hall times and links will be posted in Monday’s announcements.
- PARENT-TO-PARENT TIP #1: “Oxrose does a good job of structuring its curriculum to minimize screen time. Encourage students to spend time away from the computer when not in class or actively completing necessary work. Let’s not be derailed by messaging!”
- PARENT-TO-PARENT TIP #2: “Help younger students especially with time management. If work is being submitted late or there’s a lot of last minute cramming, it’s usually an indication that time could be organized better. Consider helping your student prepare for the following week early and helping them see where they could better structure their time.”
- MEET WITH OTHER PARENTS: Our Oxrose Well-Read Mom Group meets Tuesday, September 30 at 6:30 PM Central Time! This is not just for moms, so, dads, get involved, too. This is a group for the literary-inclined to relax and share some thoughtful fellowship.
- Fall CLT Registration Open: Especially helpful to Seniors applying for colleges now. Test is scheduled for November 8th.
- PRAY FOR OUR PILGRIMS: We have many students marching on the Three Hearts Pilgrimage October 9-11. Please prayer for them and the intentions of all those marching. Even if we are not walking alongside them, let us be present to them in prayer.

Welcome to the new year!
As we prepare for the new academic year at Oxrose Academy, I wish to extend my sincerest welcome to each of you, returning and new. This year, our Headmaster, Mr. Kenneth Rolling, will be on sabbatical, and I am pleased to fill in for him during the year. We have many new teachers on staff, and some of our familiar faces you will find in new roles. Please welcome Mr. Matthew Walsh as our new Dean of Humanities, Mrs. Lorryn Sterkenburg as our new Dean of Math and Sciences, and Mr. Zachary Krueger as our new Dean of Discipline. They are well-prepared for their positions, and I am confident they will perform excellently. I look forward to getting to know each of you better throughout the school year. Thank you for your support and your trust as we seek to educate you with joy like swords, ever to the heights. Most Sincerely,
Alecia Rolling
Headmistress, Oxrose Academy
